IMMIGRATION

1. Immigration under the skilled worker category and business category

Selection as permanent residents based on their education, work experience, knowledge of Canada’s Official Languages and other factors that show that they will become economically established in Canada.

2. Sponsorship Application

If you are a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada, you can sponsor your spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner, dependent child (including adopted child) or other eligible relative (such as a parent or grandparent) to become a permanent resident.

3. Student Visa

To study in Canada, you may need a study permit or a temporary resident visa.

4. Work Visa

A work permit is needed for most temporary jobs in Canada, though for some positions and business may not be necessary.

5. Humanitarian and Compassionate Cases

You may apply under this category, if you are currently living in Canada. However, you must demonstrate that you would experience unusual hardship, if you were required to live Canada.

6. Pre-Removal Risk Assessment

If your refugee claim is denied and you are given a removal order, you may apply for a pre-removal risk assessment (PRRA). An officer will review any new evidence that you provide before making a decision.

7. Citizenship Application

To become a Canadian Citizen, you must have permanent residence status in Canada that are not in doubt and you have to comply with other requirements.

8. Permanent Resident Card Application

You are eligible for a Permanent Resident Card only if you have entered Canada through the immigration process and have been granted permanent resident status.

9. Extension of Visas

You must apply to extend your stay if you want to visit, study or work longer in Canada, change the type of your permit or change the conditions of your stay.
