Immigration Services

EXPRESS ENTRY

The Express Entry system is a new program that came into force in January 2015. It is not a new immigration category for Canada, but it is a new form of filing immigration applications. Instead of simply submitting a completed immigration application, potential applicants must first create an online profile and wait to be asked to send the application to permanent residence. The invitation is based on points allocated by certain categories with a maximum of 1200 points.

PERMANENT RESIDENCE

Permanent residence is a type of immigration status that grants foreigners the right to live in Canada, including the unlimited right to work, study and access social services. Permanent resident status can be obtained and renewed through various immigration programs offered by the Canadian government, including the following:

  • Family sponsorship
  • Skilled workers
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Express Entry
  • Investor Relations
  • Start-Up Visa
  • Self-employed
  • Humanitarian and Compassion

TEMPORARY RESIDENCE

Those who wish to come to Canada to visit, study or work for a limited period of time can obtain a temporary residence visa. These types of visas are typically applied in Canadian consulates and can be renewed within Canada. The duration of their validity depends on the type of visa and the reason for temporary residence in Canada.
The main types of temporary visas are: tourist visa, student visa and work visa.

SERVICES FOR RESIDENTS IN CANADA

Permanent residents have the right to become Canadian citizens, to sponsor family members to immigrate to Canada, and as long as they do not have Canadian citizenship they need to renew Canada’s resident card.
