Visitor’s Visa

To visit Canada you need to fulfill some basic requirements such as:

  1. Have a valid travel document, such as a passport,
  2. Be healthy
  3. Not having a record in the police or problems with immigration
  4. Convince the immigration officer that you have strong ties with your country of origin, such as work, home, financial investments and family ie reasons to return.
  5. Convince the immigration officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit or when your stay expires.
  6. Have financial conditions to stay in Canada during your visit. The amount to be tested will depend on how long you will stay in the country, whether you will be staying in a hotel or with friends and relatives.
  7. There is the possibility of having to take a medical examination.

There are two types of visitor visas: a single entry visa and a multiple entry visa. Both are valid for a fixed period and can not be used after they expire.

A multiple entry visa allows you to enter and leave Canada, usually for a period of six months per trip, without having to reapply. May be valid for up to 10 years, or one month before the passport expires; what happens first. It is necessary to arrive in Canada before the expiration date of the visa.

A single entry visa allows you to enter Canada only once. After leaving Canada, excluding travel to the United States and St. Pierre and Miquelon, you will need to reapply for a new visa.
